For those of you who think this old man is in daffy-land because he believes what the Bible says in the way that it says it, and teaches it that way, I have this to say to you: I love you as a contrary soul with the love of Jesus Christ, but otherwise, tough! I love you as a lost soul but anything you have to say on any subject related to living this life in your world is meaningless to me! I turn a deaf ear to any conversation you might wish to hold that elevates the worldly life or makes excuses for it.
“How can you be so mean and heartless by saying “tough!” to the position any person takes when that position is opposite that of yours?”, some might ask. The answer is simple and is found in the New Testament: Luke 16:13: “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” I personally am not going to try to live with one foot in Christ’s Kingdom and the other in the world ruled by Satan!
Now I know that some of you are content to keep both feet in the Devil’s land. Such a pity. But there are some who want to stay in what they think is the middle. You want a certain amount of credibility from rubbing shoulders with Christ and His people while at the same time gathering in the sheaves from the fields of the sensuous world. As a speaker I recently heard said, “There is no fence to straddle—there is no middle of the road – it is either black or white, evil or good.”
So you want to know how I can avoid hypocrisy while using both the words “tough” and “love” in the same dialog. Have you ever heard of “tough love”? That is the only things that works in redirecting some rebellious children. So what do you think you are when you disregard God’s will and word? You too are a rebellious child in the respect that God is our Creation father. We became estranged from Him by sin. He took the initiative and developed a plan by which we who desire may be adopted back into His family. In a sense His plan does include tough love in the form of the options He lays out before us in choosing our life direction. Those options are: choose a life following Him and spend eternity with Him in paradise, or choose a life that rejects and ridicules Him and go to Hell! Your move pardner!
